Our Mission

LinguaHungary was created to fill a gap we noticed when we first arrived in Budapest as language students ourselves. Finding reliable, up-to-date information about language courses, school quality, and study options required piecing together scattered blog posts, outdated forum threads, and school marketing materials that rarely told the whole story.

We decided to create the resource we wished had existed: a straightforward, regularly updated guide that compares schools honestly, explains the education system clearly, and provides practical tips that actually work.

  • Honest school comparisons based on research, not sponsorship
  • Practical language learning tips tested in real-world settings
  • Clear explanations of Hungarian education policy and programs
  • Regular updates to reflect current prices, schedules, and availability

What We Cover

Our content focuses on three main areas that we believe are most useful for people considering language study in Hungary:

Language guides: Practical introductions to languages commonly studied in Hungary, starting with Hungarian itself. These guides cover pronunciation, essential phrases, grammar fundamentals, and learning strategies.

School reviews: Comparative overviews of language schools, university programs, and cultural institutes in Budapest and other Hungarian cities. We include information about teaching methods, class sizes, costs, and certification options.

Education system: Explanations of how language education works in Hungary, including school requirements, university language policies, scholarship programs, and international study opportunities.

We are not affiliated with any language school, university, or government program. Our recommendations are based on independent research and personal experience. We do not accept payment for reviews or placement on our guides.
